Have been hosting my cousin & family these few days- visited a whole bunch of touristy spots in Singapore.

1. Singapore Flyer!

(at the maximum height)

$15 for students. Booking tickets online also gives you a 10% off!
It’s a 30 minute ride! My first time on it actually. Was pretty cool I guess :) Previously during car rides I would comment to my dad that the Flyer was really ugly - so unadorned and etc. Then finally I understood its simplicity an that it cannot outshine the rest in it the carefully constructed lightscaping of the Singapore Skyline. Anyways the flyer is not the traditional ferris-wheel- it’s some special rim thing that promotes more view (you tend to get blocked with the usual model). Also it’s one of the largest of its kind or something. Either way a pretty cool thing!

2. Supertrees @ Gardens By The Bay

Not my first time at the Gardens but definitely my first on the OCBC Skywalk. ($5 for adults, $3? for children). The Supertrees are very pretty at night. Would be very nice to just hang out there. Catch the (free) light show at 7.45 and 8.45PM every night. You will also see the other sights like MBS light up at night.Singapore is really pretty at night :)

3. Esplanade, Helix, MBS area

What can I say? I like hanging out at the Esplanade. The air con is always (Y) and all the sweet memories of concerts held there, both classical and pop :) Unfortunately I seem to be putting behind my concert days now…

4. Night Safari

Well, the Zoo isn’t very accessible. Tucked away in an ulu area, getting there by public transport = take train to AMK and take about a 30min bus ride on 138.

This shizz is also getting more and more expensive. ($35 for adults.. including tram ride. Which now seems to be kinda mandatory.Or it being optional isn’t very obvious now.) And the queue was absolutely ridiculous and not to mention chaotic. 40min-1hour wait for the tram?! Really? Everyone was horrified.

Am pleased however to report that that is an area extension , the ‘Caves’ area and perhaps the Wallaby trail (don’t remember coming across this trail a few years ago.edit: it’s new! ) Many repeated animals like the Lesser and Greater mouse deer etc. But the tram ride is always fun. The animals like the tapirs were so near!! There was also one ‘water’ experience near the Tiger exhibit. Been a while since I’ve seen an orange tiger,since the Zoo only showcases the (three) white tigers in the day. My cousins were pleased :)

So once you get past the crowds and wait time, it’s an excellent experience :)

The darkness in the trails also made it very ‘explorer’ like. Well done Sg hahah artificial construction at its best. Making you feel adventurous in a safe,contained place. (I’m not being snarky here, genuinely amazed by the efforts). The darkness is really eerie yet fascinating. There were these huge birds - OH they are pelicans- WERE SCARY AS FUQ. So huge and so near. They look duck sized here but NO THEY ARE THE HUGEST SWIMMING BIRDS I’VE SEEN UP CLOSE. Super eerie.

The 20-25minute trails (Leopard, Fishing Cat and Wallaby trails) are all worth a shot! Liked the owls and bats. The slow loris was also super adorbz. And of course the open zoo concept where cages aren’t used. The only obvious ‘barrier’ was the glass panel separating us from the orange tiger. Soooo I would definitely say that I enjoyed myself :) Second visit to the zoo this year already, should get some annual pass or some shizz.

And I’d wrap up here. Conclusion: I like checking out the sights in Sg. Gonna check out more and report back here! :> Enjoy your holidays friends!

And I know I’ve said that I will probably not be holding a 21st party, but while being at Brigitte’s I couldn’t stop myself from daydreaming a little anyways. Hahaha.

So let me share with you what I have in mind HAHA they’re totally not very feasible and not very budget friendly but yeah I looove fantasizing about stuff like that. The whole fun is in the planning no? (Like how you’d picture and imagine your future house … or what you pick when you furnish your Sims house..)

Because I am narcissistic as fk, expect to see my name all over the place. For example, on helium balloons!!! (that you can bring home. That will say : “TH’S 21ST BIRTHDAY” and egoistic things like that.

Food wise: (is basically all the things I’d like to eat. LOL)

Finger food like NUGGETS! SEAWEED CHICKEN! Sausage cocktails, fruits, desserts aplently, ice cream…pies, etc ECLAIRS. HAHAHA. Dainty sandwiches, coke, beer, pudding, various pastries..

Yes of course.

Foosball table, wii/kinect, thumping dance floor, live band, free flow bar counter (Hhaha thanks Suyee for ideas LOL). Magic bouncy castle HAHA. A photo slideshow of my friends so they can try spotting themselves on it! (Obviously stealing ideas from weddings I’ve been to)

Venue? The only sticking image in my head is unfortunately this HAHA

I am in love with the grand circular pool. HAHA.

There’d be great music of course. And hopefully things that can entertain everybody.

Everyone’s kinda feeling the stress to one up another for their parties but Ling’s post put it into words quite well- why did I need to fit the mould and celebrate my birthday in this party way? So well that solved things easily. I’m gonna do things my way HAHA :)

Also: more daydreaming and themes:

ie. Rockstar theme (HAHA)

Expect expensive sexy cars and hot Harley Davidsons you can pose with for photos! And lots of sex, drugs and rock n roll. (Obviously ‘m just kidding friends…) And Ray-Bans.. and leather jackets! Of course :) Fake tattoos for everyone.

Okay I’m done and I’d continue to think about what I wanna do on my birthday though I won’t be surprised it would turn out pretty ordinary (the way I like it). This post is not to goad you into planning a surprise party just sayin, as y’all know I’m such a control freak and if I want a party I NEED to do it myself hehe. So I can control everything from food to decorations to guest list. So spare yourself the trouble friends :)

Ohoh another theme would be like in Botanic Gardens or somewhere with grass! Which would honestly be really pretty but haha everyone would melt. MELT. And like the movie Bridesmaids where you open the bridal shower invitation, a butterfly comes out:

Yeah and maybe release like balloons or better, butterflies HAHA (I imagine how some people will freak out. Well be happy I’m not releasing doves..)

sidenote: HOW ABOUT A WATERFALL? :D Or… a champagne waterfall!!

Ok lol if you have more crazy ideas feel free to share I’d like to plan my non-existent party. I think planning a 21st is like practise for planning a wedding (which is super super tedious work imo).

To my classmate, deskmate and funky friend from secondary 3 &4, HAHA I am very pleased to have met you. All the countless mornings of grumpy you and coffee (LOL) and cup noodles days and jellyfish and all the silly things we’ve done… you selling bikini sets early on online and now such a young, pretty, successful entrepreneur!! (Actually my memory’s kinda warped but all I remember is how amused I was all the time XD Thanks for making days a joy~~!) You’re magic :D Stay gold girl!!!

Just the other night (when I was still staying in CAPT) upon having dinner after playing basketball, saw this fire burning. Stood on the bench near the lift and just watched it glow in the night. So pretty yet so destructive.

School’s out and summer’s in da house!

Spent most of the days left in CAPT hanging with friends and packing up.

Before that, we surprised Oli after her exam paper on Monday! We were totally banking on the fact that we thought she would not leave the exam premises earlier because she had too much to study (two papers in a day!). Camped at at a door and damn she exited through another!! Panic hahaha and hilarity ensues. Luckily we managed to find her in the end anyways.

Went for dinz with Seets & Lingz! JokeS of the day- waitress kept trolling me- brought a bowl of ramen to our table and then promptly turned away and said wrong table. A few times. Dafuq lol I was soooo hungry!!

Tried Black Ball for the first time as well! (Y) Nice catching up friends :)

Went to Botanic Gardens with lovely CAPT company :)

The gardens were super pretty. The landscaping and Orchid Gardens were really well done! Only $1 for entry fee for students!!

Cheap (but awesome awesome thrill) of the day: LOL Junyuan learnt the chords and chorus of Spiralling Sunday and zomg it’s the first time anyone has ever sang my song :””) Played for them and tried to climb trees though LOL I am clearly not a natural. Haha :) Had a really good break and ate till I was so drowsy. Awesome food is awesome. Went back to CAPT to welcome WENXIN!! :)) Who was dressed very appropriately as a campus dweller hahaha :)

and who surprised me with a Kindle ZOMG MAX.

Putting the Kindle to good use!! Already read three books- Yakuza Moon, The Fault In Our Stars and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

Why am I up at 4am? I enrolled in two Coursera university online courses and was tackling the lectures/homework of Operations Management. Sooooo I had to interact with numbers and formulas D: Everything is logical but this shit takes quite some effort from my already attuned to arts and not numbers/formula/stats brain. However, I’m always up for a good challenge (though I swear maths problems really get my goat and can be uber frustrating). I’m sure all these information that I am exposed to will be useful though :)
